I keep hearing about these news Korean monitors which use the same panels as Apple monitors.

Can someone recommend me a ~28" Korean IPS LCD from Amazon? Yes, yes, I know, they are available from ebay cheaper, but I have a bunch of amazon gift cards I need to use.

27-30" IPS. It will be used primarily for gaming, so I guess a good response time. My budget is $300 - $500. I can go to $500 if worth it, but prefer to stay around $400.

My video card is a EVGA SuperClocked 01G-P3-1563-AR GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card, in case I need any additional wires.

Thoughts ?

I have a Achieva Shimian QH270-IPSB which has been working w/o any problems for +6 months a couple of dead pixels, but they're so small I can only see them if it's a completely white screen and I search for them.

Noticed some Yamakasi Leonidas 30" monitors on eBay. Never heard of them until now. I took a look at some photos and it looks nearly identical to my DoubleSight DS-307W. The only difference I could see was the control module under the screen. Mine has menu controls. This one does not. Only brightness controls.

Edit: And it has far less inputs.

It's kinda funny they use the movie and lead character name for the monitor. Doubt they got permission to do that.

Hahaha, that'd be like getting permission to use Achilles or something of that nature. Leonidas was a real man, and Thermopylae was a real battle. :) I don't think the filmmaker can secure rights to the actual name, and I don't think they could stop anyone else from even going so far as to make another film about that situation, as it's a matter of historical record. Though I think there are limits in terms of how closely '300' could be copied. AFAIK, they created a bunch of made-up characters and things in that film that have no historical basis whatsoever (in addition to using what the somewhat sparse historical record had on the situation).

Yeah, I know the reference for the movie 300, but they use images of 300 with the actor that played Leonidas.

I just got an Achieva Shimian QH270 LIte 2560 x1440 monitor. Was delivered over lunch and already running on my 2500k @4.5Ghz with an EVGA GTX670 FTW. Beautiful monitor. No bells and whistles. Just on/off switch, bright/dark arrows on the monitor. Panel is gorgeous.
