which Joystick to buy ?

If you're looking most bang for the buck, Logitech Extreme Digital 3D.

Another vote for the Logitech Extreme Digital 3D. I bought 5 of them for about $17 each from Computer Geeks so my kids could play Mechwarrior with their buddies on my home LAN. Nice solid joystick, small footprint, POV hat, throttle, twist handle for rudder, and can be used USB or gameport. No problems with it in Win98 or WinXP. If you search pricewatch they can be had for less than $20, looks like compgeeks does not currently carry them.
