I find on a smartphone I dont really need file managment. Especially with WP7 where it takes care of most things for you.
Wanna look at pics? Open the photo manager. Not hard. It finds all your photos regardless of type or location.
Ditto music. Vids I dont know cuz I dont watch vids on my phone.

On a desktop I prefer fine control over my files, but really thats the only place I need it.

So this is you adding your usual 'substance' to a thread I take it.

My substance is that there's no good Android phone to upgrade to right now but I don't want a Windows Phone or an iPhone either. I would probably get the SGS3, but hate how it looks because the SGS2 looks better. The iPhone 5 could be a potential target too, but I kinda don't want to switch to iOS. I have nightly ROM flashing addictions.

So in my current situation I would stick out with the SGS2 and hope the next Nexus is worth upgrading to. That or if I can wait til the next HTC phone in Feb or Samsung's next Galaxy phone even later.

I want the Note 2, but after playing with my friends new Nokia phone, I am tempted to get one of those next time I buy a phone. Reminds me a bit of my old Zune, which I loved.

Ive got one of each and the S3 is worlds better than the S2. Its more solid, it feels better put together, if you hold one in each hand it makes the S2 feel cheap.

Lumia 920 or possibly the Ativ S. It will come down to whichever one comes to Verizon - if neither are on Verizon at launch or a few months later, I'm jumping ship to ATT. I'm probably the biggest Windows Phone fan on the forums... possibly on the internet, lol.

It's not that there are no good phones, there's just no phone that particularly appeals to you. I can understand that as I felt the same way for a long time, but they're not the same thing.

You can thank Apple's lawsuit craziness for the SGS3 not following the same design as the SGS2.

If I were you, I'd wait for the LG Optimus G, assuming it's coming to whichever carrier you have. That thing is the most interesting phone on the horizon right now IMO.

Holding onto my SGS2 for now but looking for a larger screen which knocks the iPhone out of the equasion. Most likely will be another Samsung phone just not sure which one currently.

iPhone 5 all the friggin' way baby! No other phone holds a candle to it.
Really, I always hated all things Apple, but credit must be given, when credit is due.

For me, the phone's merits come from how good is it as a phone, and how good is it of a camera, both for video and photos. No matter how big phone screens get, they are still not big enough to comfortably read e-books, and the way things are right now, when you have a small screen, there isn't much difference reading on the iPhone as opposed to Galaxy 3. Besides, where the Galaxy 3 wins in size, the iPhone wins in clarity and contrast.

And videos? Seriously. Ask yourself, how often do you watch videos on your Phone? In all the years I owned smartphones, I never watched anything aside from you-tube, and even that, very rarely because of prohibitively high data rates.

Now, the most important part. The two most important features in any phone. It's performance as a phone, and camera.

Unlike some Android phones, the iPhone will NEVER, EVER freeze, crash, slow down, lag during number dialing or glitch in any way. It simply works, and is always ready every time I need it to be. Both talk and speaker quality are always stellar, and do not degrade with age. (Extremely important for me)

And the camera? Please. Don't even try to tell me that your camera on the Galaxy 3 is as good. It's not even remotely close, no matter how much you want it to be. And what if you are shooting at night or indoors? Fuhgetaboutit!

The camera on my 4s is so damn good I find myself never using a regular P&S ever again. And on the 5 it'll be even better!

As you've used it could you give us a user review?

I have no problem reading ebooks on my S3 and I dont have the best eyes in the world.

You've obviously never had to take a bored kid on a long journey.

Again I'm dying to hear your user review, could you include some sample photos as well?

A decent P&S kicks the iPhone4s's camera out of the park (as it does every smartphones).

You don't either if you use your Android phone the same as you would a Windows phone or iPhone. But, what happens when you want to do a quick file transfer from a computer? What happens when you to make your own ringtone, or just download one from the internet and set it on your phone? The difference is limitations (iOS & WP7/8) and freedom (Android).

Also what if you have some files that are not recognized by any of the native apps.

I had some CBZ files that I had to open through the file manager.

Or what if I want to transfer some files like Titanium backup files? How do I do that without a file manager?

Samsung is simply owning the consumer electronics market these days with quality, affordable products on all fronts. Apple is becoming a caricature of itself.

I don't really think Samsung goes out of their way to put out quality/affordable products, I think it's more a byproduct of their R&D. Where as Apple.. marketing. need I say more?

I won't get any of them since I got the Galaxy Nexus last year. But if I was getting something I'd purchase the Galaxy S III

This is the phone I'm looking forward the most.
I would even get this and stick it out with EDGE(until the re-farming is done) if Tmobile doesn't get it.
Although I'm planning to get my first WP8 phone. The Ativ or HTC whatever.

But it's LG, who do not have the best track record when it comes to updates or community work AFAIK.

I'd take the Note 2 or the HTC phone that I haven't even seen yet over that.
