Which is worse?

My dad and I have been talking a lot over the week or so...i had lost all focus in school and was just drifting thru doing the bare minimum for more than a year. I finally told my dad and he's helping me restructure my life and reprioritize everything. Anyway, it just got me thinking about this...

see the thing is...usually when you fall into a way of mediocrity, you go along and it almost kinda sucks you in. Failing on the other hand, is like a kick in the ass, cause you know you have to change your lifestyle

Picking yourself up from mediocrity is a lot easier than from failure.

The real question should be, is being content with mediocrity worse than failure?

i believe we both have valid points. i see what you're saying that its easier to pick yourself up from mediocrity, but I was saying that realizing and wanting to beat mediocrity is a lot harder. Do you see what I mean?

I've always told my kids:
If you don't have time to do something right the first time,
where are you going to find the time to do it over again?

What some people see as mediocre may not be so with you. I would not judge my success in the viewpoint of others, but in what I want to accomplish.
