Your always fun when you get mad.
Who's mad? Like smp I really could care less if it's legalized or not. In CA they look the other way when it comes to possesion for personal use. I also have noticed a change of attitude in the way to population here and in the other western states look at Pot and the dismal efforts to legislate personal behavior. A lot of the bullshIt come from the religious hypocrites who are losing credibilty faster than smp's bong water turns brown.
This was and is simply a debate about the effects of pot? Nothing more, nothing less. Yet, here comes Red bringing religion into it again. Why do you always have to bring religion into EVERYTHING? It's getting really pathetic. Perhaps you should do a search on these boards for religion/religious and your name. You'll see for yourself how sad you have become, so sad you used to be fun to debate. 🙁

Oh what? You're religious? ... oh well that just settles it then .. I make it a piont not to have moot arguments with people of "blind faith".... of course, if you aren't a religious zealot then my apologies.

For me to debate you would mean that what you have said at least had a little credibilty. Suffice to say that isn't the case. You climb up on your moral pedestal and dare others to knock you from it. You make an excellent target!

"Until you get some smarter people supporting pot legalization, it won't be legallized..."

Drugs, prohibition and human nature...
  • "The amount of money and of legal energy being given to prosecute hundreds of thousands of Americans who are caught with a few ounces of marijuana [1 ounce = 28g] in their jeans simply makes no sense - the kindest way to put it. A sterner way to put it is that it is an outrage, an imposition on basic civil liberties and on the reasonable expenditure of social energy." - William F. Buckley

"So long as large sums of money are involved - and they are bound to be if drugs are illegal - it is literally impossible to stop the traffic, or even to make a serious reduction in its scope."

"Our emphasis here is based not only on the growing seriousness of drug-related crimes, but also on the belief that relieving our police and our courts from having to fight losing battles against drugs will enable their energies and facilities to be devoted more fully to combatting other forms of crime. We would thus strike a double blow: reduce crime activity directly, and at the same time increase the efficacy of law enforcement and crime prevention." - Milton Friedman

LOL.... There you go assuming my morality. Your just getting more sad with each post. 🙁

Ornery,
Prosecution of pot offenses has nothing to do with the topic of this discussion.

Although, if it was then i would be on your side, the crime doesn't fit the time and money spent prosecuting it. I actually like the UK plan to lower the penalty on pot crimes so that time and money can be diverted to more dangerous crimes. Later..

BreakApart, your anal retentiveness makes it obvious that you've never tried it. Smoke some grass and lighten up, you don't need to feel threatened.

Dave, the majority of the people in this country watch an average of 4hrs of television a day, eat lots of junk food, and get little to no exercise. The whim of the herd is worth little consideration, especially with regard to evil bad makeblackmenrapewhitewomen devilsmoke evil marijuana. Yeah, keep frying your brains on television folks, buy into that political propaganda and focus on how unhealthy other people's habits are.

Slavery is valid, because it pertains to the bigger issue of what is simply accepted and why. You were suggesting that it is irresponsible to encourage people try something that's illegal. I say, why place ultimate value on the law when we've already established that law != what's right.

Ah the Proclaimer. You proclaim me sad. You proclaim that Pot will never be legalised. You proclaim Enginenr9 to be out to lunch, You proclaim this and that. The problem is that you have no audience. You are doing nothing but pissing in the wind and you are ruining your outercoat.

Well unfortunately for all the pretentious college students in this country, the whim of the herd usually wins. Changing peoples minds is the trick. I've watched the lottery come into two states where the initial response was an overwhelming NO, mostly fueled by the churches. Gambling is immoral, people will spend their grocery money, blah, blah, blah. The states came in and made solid cases and the lotteries passed. This is the battle the legalization folks face. People will listen but you better be right. They're not as dumb as you think.

Excellent post...

Glad you took my advice to heart.... this makes 2 posts from you without any mention of religion

Everybody I know who smoked pot, started first with alcohol. Guess that makes alcohol no better than pot in that regard, eh?

...And everyone I know that has had sex started by beating off to nudie magazines, guess that means in order to get laid you gotta jack it? Alcohol can lead to other stuff, but it isn't the same in my experience, most of the people that I know started with cigs, they drank first, but started with cigs, it isn't such a big jump going from cigs to joints. In any case they are both tools used by hedonistic dolts with self destruction on their minds...

There's no arguing that "the whim of the herd usually wins" as you say, that's already a given. The issue is, popular opinion controls the herd, the media controls popular opinion, and corporate sponsors & advertisers control the media, and the government is in bed with corporations.

Is it just a coincidence that those with monetary and public image interests in marijuana staying illegal are the ones trying so hard to keep a lid on the dirty little secret that marijuana is, relatively, at worst, on the same level as alcohol. What are the implications of this? Wouldn't it go a long ways to dissolve the blind faith people have in the way things are run?

Haven't even begun to touch on industrial hemp, which is the real corporate threat.

"Prosecution of pot offenses has nothing to do with the topic of this discussion."

You guys are the clowns making a HUGE discussion out of such a fvcking simple question!

"Which is worse: Weed or Alcohol?"

You can DIE drinking too much alcohol, you can't die smoking too much weed. CASE CLOSED! GAME OVER! CHECKMATE!

A field of hemp say an acre big, can produce a lot more paper per year than a field of trees in any given year. Why the hell not use hemp? I don't understand. Who makes these decisions? You? Me?

For those claiming moral authority on this matter (weed = stupid criminal) .. you are nothing more than bigots who are convinced that you are better than other people. Any reason to paint someone a "stupid criminal" or what have you that you get, you take, it makes you that much more comfortable in your "secure" and "comfortable" life. Stay convinced that you are trodding "the right" path and that others aren't. I'm happy living my life and knowing that I'm enjoying the only one that I have. Beyond good and evil .. there are no such things. They are constructs of language, nothing else ... black and white is for simpletons.

Your parents must be proud. *rofl*
