I'm not speaking of a weed/alcohol addiction, but if either are smoked/drank once in a while. Which one has worse short and long term effects? I've just been having discussions with my friends, and they say that they'd rather drink, whereas i'd rather smoke weed. From what i've heard, weed isn't addictive, but from what i have experienced (from others anyway) is that that's not totally true. When i ask the drinkers, "Why do you drink?" they respond, "I don't know." Would drinking be considered as more of an addiction?

For me, they both have such negative effects that it would be idiotic to use them.
They both affect people differently, so neither of them is 'addictive' to everyone.

Drinkers tend to fight more,were as stones just like to kick-back and relax.

Hmm, so far it's going how i thought it would go.
This I don't understand. The last time i was at a party, people were justso excited over the drinks (underage drinking party btw). I didn't understand it at all. I mean, there are so many more things to do...SOBER. Why would anyone need to be drunk in order to have fun? And so far, when they tell me that they "do it just for fun," i don't believe them. And what's worse is that people keep doing this, no matter how sick they feel, how much they throw up, etc.
I'm just glad the girl i'm seeing told me she'll stop drinking. Couldn't stand seeing her sick after she had one too many mixed drinks. And it not only spoiled her night, but MINE too. Sh00t, i had to take care of her the rest of the night. But ahh well, so long as they learn, i s'ppose.
BLAH, maybe i'm just jaded from this one image that's bothering me. There was a girl, she obviously had too much to drink, and she was carried out onto the driveway. And while she was there, all she did was throw up on herself. That doesn't sound like much fun to me :disgust:

Weed. Alcohol is more addictive, causes more health problems, and more headaches for society in general. But then again boozers don't subject us to the constant parade of telling us about how nothing wrong ever came from their drug of choice but a case of the munchies, how it's so evil that the government continues to make their junk illegal, et al ad nauseam. It seems to be one of the side effects of marijuana that you are physiologically impelled to constantly remind the rest of us how harmless your habit is.
Alcohol is legal and (for the most part) socially acceptable, unless you're an alcoholic then folks aren't too happy to have you around. It has a pretty long shelf life, unless opened, so it's convenient to keep fresh, you don't need to buy a fresh bottle to know it isn't stale.
If you are smoking weed, then it's still smoking and carries the same stigma cigarettes do - reeking smoke, fire hazard, burn holes in fabric/clothing, not as easy to buy and transport (seeing as it's illegal and all), sometimes laced with other drugs which are not so safe, and not a great shelf life, a little more challenging to keep a fresh supply on hand for the occasional user.
Both provide some adverse health effects, but shouldn't be of concern to the light user as you've indicated, so unless the altered state is a lot better from marijuana as opposed to alcohol, then my choice would be the drink.

Actually, I used my own brain power to realize that it is stupid to do drugs.
wtf? Weed makes you more than hungry. I'd like to see a guy who just smoked up drive a car well...... Also, people who smoke weed have a higher chance of doing 'harder' drugs such as cocaine, heroin, etc. They both suck.
