I'm going to be travelling to England (U.K.) and have an unlocked tri-band phone whcih I want to use with a pay-as-you-go type cellphone service in England. So I wanted to know which cellphone service is the cheapest/best to get in England?

Thanks in Advance.

Here is a rough price list for you. In terms of service, Vodafone has the best coverage in the uk, followed by Orange. T-Mobile being one of the worst for coverage along with 3(three) which is a newer company. 02 has great coverage in the big cities, but out-width is hit and miss. I've switched between various over the years, and last time after some frustration at signal coverage from 02 I went back to Vodafone (albeit on a contract for cheaper calls)

Im in the market myself. Im gonna be going to school at Oxford from the end of June - mid August...

From the looks of that list, if you top up more than 40 pounds on T-Mobile, its only 5p per minute?

Also, stupid question but does 100p = 1 pound?

EDIT: found it;

Basic System
Since 1971, we have used a decimal system, with 100 pence to the pound.

Yes it would be 5p, but as the small print says you need to spend that 3 months in a row.

And yes, 100p = £1
