The system is an i7 920 on a Asus p6t ... I think the mobo only has 2.0x16? So does that limit the 7850 a lot causing a bottleneck?
Thanks
Thanks
well its so silly to have to repeat the same thing over and over and over. there is NO point in touching any graphics settings so please stop recommending that when all you have to do is lower the resolution.Well not the advanced settings, no, but I meant texture settings and resolution. Turning down just resolution also works. Thanks for the clarification. Once again you prove your charisma or lack thereof.
Physics runs on the CPUThere are graphics settings that affect the cpu?
yes. the majority of settings in modern games except for AA and AF have an impact on the cpu. There are graphics settings that affect the cpu?
a stock 920 would most certainly hold back a gtx670 from performing its best.Doesn't bottleneck a GTX 670 so it won't bottleneck the 7850.
An Athlon II X4 645 @ stock nets near enough the same performance in BF3 as an i7At stock settings on my cpu, which is the equivalent of a 920. I get the same fps in BF3, same graphics score in 3dmark11, and same scores in Heaven.

graphics score in 3D Mark has nothing to do with cpu. and in BF 3 multi player having a faster cpu will help.At stock settings on my cpu, which is the equivalent of a 920. I get the same fps in BF3, same graphics score in 3dmark11, and same scores in Heaven.
Sure it does. It show that the CPU has the power at stock settings to push the 670 to it's limit.graphics score in 3D Mark has nothing to do with cpu. and in BF 3 multi player having a faster cpu will help.
BF3 is OPTIMIZED and yes in Multilayer it is also OPTIMIZED.not in multi player
There is no limitation or bottelneck of any kind on PCI-E 2.0 on modern cards for they are yet to even saturate the bandwidth of PCI-E 2.0. On the otherhand PCI-E 3.0 does not offer more or faster bandwidth so there is literally a non issue with PCI-E bandwidth as of current though Msi or Asus ect would have you think otherwise with there sales propaganda LOL.If you were playing a cpu intensive game you may see a bottleneck. If that happened you could overclock enough to remove that bottleneck. You could probably get to 4ghz easily, which is what I use 24/7.
Edit: just clued in that you were probably just asking about the PCI-E 2.0. My bad
There might be 1 fps difference
NO, the graphics score is mainly just what the gpu can do and the cpu has little impact. and you have no clue about BF 3 if you think its all video card. really your whole comment deserves nothing but an eye roll...Sure it does. It show that the CPU has the power at stock settings to push the 670 to it's limit.
I don't believe having a faster cpu effects multiplayer. It's all video card.
BF 3 multi player needs MUCH more cpu power than single player. I swear this forum has gone to hell. lolBF3 is OPTIMIZED and yes in Multilayer it is also OPTIMIZED.
