I'm going to college next month and I need a laptop. I will be doing mostly internet, programming, spreadsheet, DVDs. No video/photo editing or games. I'll be a computer science major so I need performance but I'm not willing to spend much more than $500.
With mail in rebates and "instant savings" the prices are much lower than what the website advertises.
First option: Acer Turion 64 ML-32--Cost:$500

Second option: Acer Pentium M 735A--Cost:$400

Basically I want to know if the 1st option is really worth the $100 difference, or if I'm better off getting the 2nd option and upgrading (more memory for example). Unless anyone has better suggestions I thought these were pretty good deals.
