Neither are silent. A thermaltake, swiftech, or alpha hs with a panoflo L1A will be a lot quieter and perform better.

You mean Thermalright; I think at least. I have heard many complaints about Thermaltake Volcano 7, 7+, and 9's being loud even on the quietest setting.

For a good price on a Thermalright heatsink, SVC.com is good.

My bad, yes, thermalright. Damn, so alike.

Hehe yah, easy way to remember

ThermalTake = ThermalWrong

ThermalRight = ThermalRight

;)

I've had a single bad experience with a Volcano 6; nothing crazy like chipped cores just a PITA for terrible cooling, a loud 60mm fan, and a ridiculous clip mechanism.

I have a ThermalTake Volcano 9 Silent .Yea right. About as quiet as my F250 Diesel pickup. And even on high it does a poor job of cooling!

beviet almost every post about HSF on this forum seems to recommend the Thermalright SLK-800. I have the A-X7 and am very please with it but if I had to buy one now, I would choose the SLK-800 because people are getting better cooling results. The SLK-800 is only $38 at NewEgg and the other two you mentioned run $28 and $33 respectively. It would be worth spending the extra $10 for the best considering you only have to buy it once.

Sorry just found out the SLK-800 is available at SVC for only $29.99
