Hello!

Could anyone please tell me which is the better configuration out of the two ? ..( in gaming performance & overall data transfer speed)

c1> pentium II CPU (350Mhz)with VIA586 chipset & s3trio3d/2x AGP(4mb VRAM), es1868 soundcard.
or
c2> Celeron 500Mhz with intel810 chipset ..

Both are having 64Mb of RAM (SDRAM) (100Mhz).

Is UDMA4 supported on intel 810 chipset ? .
Which is better in price/performance ratio for I810 or
I820 chipset ?? .

Both suck.

The i810 combination is better though. UDMA4 is supported by the i810.

If you have to get i810, get the i810E....it can run at 133MHz. Actually, you ought to get an i815E chipset based board instead. The option of an external AGP adapter makes a huge difference to performance. Avoid the i820 chipset, since it requires RAMBUS....from the options you have above, it seems you want a budget machine......so the i820 is off the list.
