Just woundering which is the best one! Also would you guys recommend a full tower case it is it just a waste of money? I Have one HD one cd and a floopy so I don't see the need in a full tower. Is the air flow better?
Full towers give you room to expand and room to work in plus usually run a little cooler. Check out the Antec SX830 it is a 3/4 tower in between a full and mid tower. I just ordered mine from Onvia for $80 with free shipping
I went to www.antec.com and it does seem to be there web site. Also I have an A500 right now some one told me that amd motherboards didn't fit in them, is that true. And will the A500 be able to keep duron 600 @ 1000 cool enough?
Antec's site is at www.antec-inc.com. The S500 is a pretty good case but the SX830 is much better and isn't that much more $$, so if you can afford it i'd say go with the SX830 for the better airflow (has support for many fans) and a lot more room.
If cooling is important, avoid the A500 at all costs. The power supply is tilted sideways in the A500. This positioning causes poor cooling results (since the power supply is right over the CPU).
So do I have to buy a new floopy drive or will my old one work? And do you know any stores in canada to buy this case because shipping must cost a lot.
Any standard floppy drive will work, so you can keep yours. Im from the US so i don't have the slightest clue as to where you can find this sucker up north.
I've got both an A and an S500. The A500 is with a K6-2 300 and the S is with my Duron 600@927. I wouldn't even think of putting a Duron in the A500 unless I did a lot of cutting to add extra cooling. The S500 has provision for a fan at the front-bottom and the back near CPU. I ordered an AMD-approved 300 watt PS with the S. Panels are very easy to remove/replace to get at dip-switches. The A has the removeable MB tray which I consider a worthless feature.
