Which is the best video capture PCI card for surveillance?

I used to setup security systems that used the AverMedia cards. They are okay, as long as you get good cameras.

As for software, there is one that I've used which just has a linux setup on a card you plug into and IDE port. It boots from the card, uses whatever hard drives to store video, and generally runs pretty well. But for the life of me I can't remember the name of it. It's been several years since I did any installations.

I see some cards from avermedia on ebay.
One looked really good and comes with the software.
about 125.00 for card and software.

Pelco makes some of the best cameras out there. I don't know how their price compares to that other one.

Panasonic makes some good ones too.
