I am trying to decide which 4GB kit I should get. I don't OC, but might want to a bit in the future. I want to get 4-4-4-12 at 800MHz using the lowest voltage possible. Right now I can run 2x1GB Ballistix at 800 with 4-4-4-12 using 1.9V. Here is what is availble at Newegg with tight timings and fairly low voltages.

Mushkin 2x2GB, model 996587, 5-4-4-12 and 1.8V

Mushkin 2x2GB model 996580, 4-4-4-12 and 2.0-2.1V

Crucial 2x2GB Ballistix, 4-4-4-12 and 2.0V

GSkill 2x2GB PI Black, 4-4-4-12 and 1.8-1.9V

Kingston 2x2GB HyperX, 4-4-4-12 and 1.95V

The Mushkins look good. I am a bit leery to recommend Crucial Ballistix ATM but I might be wrong. The GSkill is not worth the extra money just for CAS 4 at 1.8v. Kingston... meh.

If I were you, I would get the first one. 1.8 volts, decent timings, lowest price and free shipping.

yea im going to have to agree on that. chances are you could run the 5-4-4-12 ram at 4-4-4-12 w/o any issues anyway lol.

Maybe I would be able to get the Mushkin to CAS4 with 1.9V anyway.

I'll add a vote for the 5-4-4-12 mushkin sticks. That's what I've got in my gaming rig right now and absolutely no problems.
