Which is the best DivX/XviD software player?

I'm also a fan of bsplayer, and surprisingly 1.0 plays most wmv fine too. I still miss the days of sasami2k every once in a while, but 🙁

I've used BS Player and Zoomplayer myself, they just seem to 'verbose' compared to MPC. Not that ZoomPlayer and BS Player are bloated software, they just feel less responsive than MPC. MPC is clean, quick, and easy.

VLC media player gets my vote ever since i had to figure out how to get a certain kind of subtitle file to work. looks nice and runs well on my rig.

Some people like WMPclassic for ease of use and simplicity, but when you are talking best as in, excels in every category, you are talking Zoomplayer.

media player classic here as well.

I like how it makes it easy to set which decoders are running to actually decode the streams.

Can you tell me why it sucks for playing divx/xvid files? I'd really like to hear your thoughts on this "Oh, I'm too cool to use MP."

Another vote for VLC. Plays everything I throw at it.
