Which is the best county to live in California?

Since many think California rocks, I'd like to know where is the best place to live in CA and why?

If you have money...Orange Co. on the coast line.

If your gay & want solitude...tiny Alpine Co. is about 80% gay.

I'm old blue collar, 3.5 miles from the ocean, right on the L.A./Orange Co. line on the L.A.
side, in a payed for house 😀

Trinity Co. would be a nice move, inside this over-hyped State.

depends on which part of Northern and Southern CA you're talking about. Northern and Southern CA alone is bigger than most state

depends. i agree with notfred, kinda lame. just come to the bay. east bay (alameda) is alright...santa clara county is fine but the cops are HELLLLA gay...

LA is fine but the traffic is crazy. i mean you can get used to it but the bay is where to be.

san francisco is alright. too much traffic though. if you're not used to traffic, go to santa clara county (at least that's the best choice from your list)

if you want a normal community, price will be high no matter what. it's higher near the beach and the definitely more desirable areas, but will be higher than most places in the country.

i grew up in norcal, and i've been in socal for the last... seven years. i cannot wait to escape southern california. i cannot stand the traffic, the absolute constant crunch everyone is in, it's all rush rush rush.

unfortunately i may be stuck here forever, so i just make up for it by living in nicer places (i hope.)

but yeah, i grew up in santa clara county and loved it. i'd go back there if i can. if i have to stay down here, i'd stay in the nicer parts of LA county (i.e. west LA) or orange county. or san diego.

IMO, if I absolutely positive had to live in CA with no choice about, I would say Humboldt, Del Norte, or Placer. Monterey only if I didn't have to be anywhere near Salinas.
