Which is the best cdrw?

Hi,

I am looking into buying a cdrw, and I did search around before making this post. I have many questions:

1. Which is the best application for burning cds, Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 or NeroBurning?
2. I am looking at 40x or 48x cdrws, how much is the difference in performance between the two?
3. I have read mostly good things about LiteOn, and they make good reliable cheap cdrw?
4. I have read very good things about ASUS cdrw, including that they are fast, but I did read one review that criticized them bad. Any opinions on this?
5. I am looking at the Lite On 40X12X48 CDRW Model: LTR40125S-Retail $63
6. Also at ASUS CRW-4816A 48X16X48 CDRW Drive Internal IDE FlextraLink-Retail $80 @ newegg.com

Those two drives are the ones that I am considering right now, but I don't know if the price difference between the ASUS and the LiteOn is worht the money. Any suggestions or opinions on these two different cdrws? Have you had any experience with them?

Thanks for the replies!🙂

Best Buck for the bang has been Lite-on. But there has been so many rebadged-liteon deals lately where the drives cost under 50 bucks.
Yet to be release, that has possible title of "best CDRW" drive might be the Plextor 48X CDRW drive, it will come with 4mb buffer.

I never like any of the EZ cd creator software, I prefer Nero myself.

As for Asus, don't know much about them.

I think the plextor 48x 24x 48x will be a really good cd-rw when it comes out soon! < 60 ms access time! Fastest in any CD-RW out there! They did a test already with it but it was not ready yet. So it should be out really soon! I think i want to wait for a faster cd-rw sense i mostly have a fast enough one right now as it is. When cd-rws get to like 59 secs or less to make a whole cd which includes lead in and lead out then maybe i will buy a new one. If that ever happens.
