Please help me choose the best ASROCK Conroe board for the following setup. I?m not interested in overclocking. I have decided to use the following parts: -

Antec solo case
E6400 OEM
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
2GB OCZ Value DDR2 PC5400 - 667MHz - Timings: 5-5-5-10
Gigabyte 7600 GT with Silent-Pipe II Technology
250GB Samsung SP2504C
Sony DRU 820A
Seasonic 430w psu

I have never built a pc before. I want the motherboard to be very solid and to be able to bring out the best from the components above. The above components have to be compatible with the ASROCK mobo. I don?t care about agp card compatibility or raid features. Just the best general performer will do.

Thanks

The reason for asrock: - because its cheap and its got good on-board sound. Its a temporary solution. I will change it when something better comes along.

I have the Asrock ConRoeXFire-eSATA2, it works well and is cheap. I have a E6600 running and overclocked to 2.7Ghz, I could not get the board to go higher than 300FSB, but I've not tried very hard though. I will upgrade it in the future, when better motherboards are out for the conroe and hopefully when prices drop.

MB: ConRoeXFire-eSATA2
CPU: E6600
HS: Arctic Cooling Pro 7
Memory: Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C4
GC: Gainward Nvidia 7900GT
