I have a DFI Infinity in an evercase 4252....there was not enough room for the zalman...it made contact w/ the PSU.

Would a SLK947u be any smaller by the time I sit a 92mm Panaflo on top of it? Does anyone have pictures of an installed 947U? I certaintly don't want to buy it and then have it not fit (like I did with the zalman).

Right now the 2600xp-m is being cooled by a SK-7 w/ a 80mm panaflo...I'd like something quiet that will cool a bit better. Its running @ 205x11.5 and about 40 degrees idle and 47 after 45min of UT2004.

Thanks

appreciate the quick answer but, the question is not getting it on the board. The question is which will stick out further past the edge of the mother board. The zalman or the 90mm panaflow on the 947U

I tried the zalman, but it hit the PSU.

Thanks again

I installed a SLK-947 on my Prescott system along with a 92mm fan. If you have an Intel system with the HSF mounting brackets, then it fits on that fine. The only problem is that the fan brackets are too small and you have to buy some for 92mm fans.

Edit: You're going AMD...NM. If it's any consolation, I installed an Aerocool DP-102 on my 2800 and it fit. There's no way the 947 is larger than that.

I know this is somewhat not-related:

I had to remove the fan grill of my psu in order for my SLK947U with 92mm fan to fit. It was the clips that caused me to have to remove the fan grill. without the fan grille, there is 2 mm clearance between the clip and the moving fan.
