Single core cpus, with hyperthreading support on most models. Uses less power than dual core, so they may run cooler and overclock better.

The 6xx series is the BEST single-core multitasker/Encoding CPU.

Sigh, Remember, fatty also stated that is 1.8 Willamette PIV encoded faster than his AMD64 cpu. It depends on which encoding program you are using because different ones are optimized for different processors. The PIV with hyperthreading single core is definitely faster for some encoding programs than the single core AMD64. Fatty is right in that respect, but his blanket statement is simply untrue in its generalization. Running cooler and overclock better on the Prescott side of the cpu arena is relative at best. Runs cooler compared to dualcore Intel but not in the same ballpark as the AMD single and dualcores at the moment. The shrink to 65nm may change that.
