Which is more powerful - 9700 pro or 9800 non-pro?

I'm considering upgrading my video card, and the 9700 pro and 9800 pro are among my options. They both seem to be around the $250 range when available - which card is a better buy? I'm not currently planning on overclocking.

Your title says 9800np and your post says 9800 Pro, to which are your refering? Between the 9700p and the 9800p, the 9800p is the faster card.

From what I see in all benches ... is that the 9800's has superior fill rate...

(making them faster due to data transfering quiker)

My 9700pro still beats some 9800's in tests,, but only a few. (barely,, but mine is oc'd also)

Sorry, I meant 9800 non-pro, which is generally priced around the same as the 9700 pro. The 9800 pro is a little out of my price range at the moment. It sounds like the 9800np is a better buy.

Thanks!

In benchmarks that I've seen, the 9700 Pro is faster, but the 9800 IS newer and potentially a better overclocker, and performs much better with AA and AF...So go with the 9800. Or save $50 and get a 9800 Pro, or just continue to save and wait for the next generation... So many choices...
