i always thought mapquest was accurate for TIME, but today i am putting in some different destinations and yahoo maps seems better

they have the same milage (within a mile)

Mapquest
Los Angeles-San Jose
6:10

Yahoo
Los Angeles-San Jose

No, they're definitely different... i prefer Mapquest, their directions are usually easier to follow.

Another vote for Mapquest...

I've tried both to get directions to places I already know how to get to, and yahoo has given some really funky routes... I usually check both though if I'm going someplace totally new to me.

If they are, then it's strange... i've never gotten the exact same route with Mapquest and Yahoo.

I hate both of them. I always have to deal with friends who get lost using either Mapquest or Yahoo maps. They may work well for long trips, but in urban streets, forget it.

I liked MapBlast but since they got swallowed by Microsoft this week they suck.

Now I'll stick with my Thomas Guide.

There's no more reliable way to get from point A to point B than a real map and some common sense.

Always get lost using a map? You must have dumb friends. I've used Mapquest at least 2 dozen times, and i don't remember getting lost once.

EDIT: scratch that... i actually got lost once, but it was a brand new street (less than 6 months old).

we've had mapquest generate incorrectly named streets or streets being listed that didn't exist.

never had a problem with yahoo.

It's not my friends, it's the map.

My g/f tried to find some place for a job interview and Mapquest told her to turn on streets that weren't connected, and sent her to the wrong side of town.

I've used Mapquest, Yahoo, Streets and Trips and I really like Streets and Trips the best. It gives me the least number of errors and it's also much much easier to use (lightning fast because you install it locally and you get to move/zoom instantly).

I also use mappoint 2002 and it's the same thing
