which is faster sempron 3100 or athlon64 2800?

I have managed to aquire a asrock k8s8x sis755 motherboard for free, I have noticed that the sempron 3100 and athlon64 2800 are priced almost the same. This motherboard is going to be used in a system just for games software!

The performance differential is negligible but so is the price differential. Therefore you are getting a 64 bit future almost for free with the A64.
The Sempron S754 sounds good, but the pricing is skewed at the moment, making A64 a no brainer for me. 90 nm will change that, but that?s no help if you?re buying now.

They are the same chip except for the absence of 64-bit extentions of the sempron, and half the cache.

The sempron is a piece of crap compared to the 2800+ provided their prices are within close proximity to one another.
