Which is faster, Kabini or Brazos / Zacate?

Just wondering.

Bought some Westinghouse 24" 1080P HDMI HDTVs at BestBuy yesterday for $99.99 + tax each.

Set one of them up, and connected one of my Foxconn AT-5570 NanoPCs via HDMI and attached it with the included VESA mount bracket, thus making my own All-In-One PC.

Compared to my Gateway 19.5" E1-2500 AIO running Windows 8, this C-70 seems a little snappier. Then again, it has a 50GB Vertex2 SSD, and the E1-2500 is on a HDD.

I think that the GPU on the E1-2500 is better though, being GCN. I don't think Brazos / Zacate was GCN.

The E1 should blow the C7 out of the water... 40% higher base clock, and it's so much faster per clock it's not even funny.

The difference you're feeling is undoubtedly the SSD.
I guess it must be. But the C-70 turbos to 1.33Ghz, which is within spitting distance of the 1.4Ghz E1-2500. It spends most of it's time in turbo too, when the CPU is under load.

excluding avx each thread should be about 10% faster on kabini per clock, even more so when running just single thread code because that thread gets all the L2+ the L2 prefecter/predictor.

Without question. The Jaguar cores of Kabini should be 10-15% faster then Bobcat at similar clocks.

Another serious reason to prefer the E1-2500 is the GCN-based IGP. The Brazos/Zacate IGP is becoming seriously outdated. It can't even do basic 1080p decoding at those low clocks.

This is because the UVD is dependent on the graphics clock, at 276MHz (400MHz turbo), you can't even decode 1080p Youtube without shuddering/dropped frames. Just saying... :)

Kabini should be miles ahead in every metric, cpu & gpu perf and pwer consumption. It's definitely the ssd makes the difference but good on you for still rocking the c-70. I still have a c-50 netbook.
