The 9800p/xt is only available in AGP. Of course, you probably knew that already, right?

9800p is better than a 6600. If you want an upgrade get at least a 6800 or better.

The difference between your 9800p and a 6600gt isnt that big at all. I'd stay with what you have until you can afford a 6800gt/x800p or better. Stay away from those 8 pixel piped cards.

Zipzoomfly has the evga 6600GT for $124 AR shipped free. Monarchcomputer.com also has it for pretty cheap. Forget the price off hand but, it has a $20 rebate. Its like $129AR I believe? Good luck.

Of course if you would have gotten in on the microcenter deal couple weeks ago, it was $69 or something after rebate. :p

How can the 6600 GT be outdated unless the 7600 GT has been released and I don't know about it? What will be outdated are all of the x800 video cards you have listed because ATI are about to release a whole new range of video cards next month.

Maybe you could look at the Leadtek 6800le for $124 @ newegg.
It only has 8 pipelines but my friend just got lucky and I was able to unlock his card to 16pipelines and all 6 shaders with no artifacts in anything....not common though...oc's nicely too.

A 6600 GT would be a decent upgrade.

A 6800 in PCIe isnt any better than the 6600 GT so I dont reccomend it.

A 6800 GT would be $275 but is a sweet card.
