Which is better?

Which would be a better way to overclock, just keep on upping the FSB or to unlock the multiplier and up it (mainly) and the FSB (a little)?

Upping the FSb makes everything in teh comp run faster. faster FSp faster Comp. the clock just adds more cycles better to do FSB IMO

upping the fsb has advanages, true. but you need to think that wiht a faster fsb the pci and agp will go up and out of spec! this might
be a problem. you need to experiment with your gear.

So how can I find out the PCI and AGP bus speeds?

Also, what is the normal speeds and what are safe speeds?

If your processor has a default FSB of 100MHz, divide the FSB by 3 to get the PCI speed, multiply by 2/3 for AGP. If you are at 133 default, multiply by 1/4 for PCI, and by 1/2 for AGP

Jman13,

So if I have and XP 1800+ (default 133 right) and I have the FSB at 138 then the
PCI would be at: 138 * .25 = 34.5 and the
AGP would be at: 138 *.5 = 69

This is Correct!

Thanks.

I'm sorry, I messed up...AGP is at 1/2 for 133. For some odd reason, I was thinking of 166 FSB for that. So your PCI calc is correct, and your AGP would be at 69MHz
