i have a p4 1.4 ghz system asus p4t mb and 512 rdram
p4 1.4 ghz 4x mem stepping 1.7 volt -- baseline
p4 1.4 ghz @ 1.68 ghz 4x mem stepping 1.7 volt
p4 1.4 ghz @ 1.75 ghz 3x mem stepping 1.725 volt
i ran benchmarks with sisoft and 3dmark 2001 and in each 1.75 gave me the best score and biggest boost in system performance
but i remembered reading somewhere that with 3x stepping the system will preform noticelable slower than with 4x. this isnt the case on mine. am i right?
