Don't ask us at AT.. Ask someplace where people actually pay for mousepads.

get the XL. I love having a big mouse pad. I did pay $7 for it at Office Max, but its pretty decent. At least my desk isnt getting scratched up.

well one is bigger than the other, that is ALL.

I personally don't use a mousepad, just a very nice smooth desktop. I guess I over shoot the mouse pad resulting in my mouse dropping 1/8 or whatever inches, and then i have an obstacle in my mouse path way, where as a large open space desk i dont have that problem and with a MX1000 there is no difference. Unless you are like playing on glass table top or on molasess, surfaces won't make a huge deal.

Ha. Save up for an MX1000 or similar. Then place your pad in the trash.

I would get one with a gel wrist pad rest. I paid $9 for a belkin on which I use a trackball, so I do not know about response/accuracy, etc. of a normal mouse, but it is really great and I do not feel any strain even after hours of use. My earlier simple pad kept sliding all over the table at a little extra pressure and so did the trackball. With this pad, just sits tight.

i have the XTRAC. it's gigantic. i'd let you know how i like it, but i haven't had a chance to try it out yet because i don't have nearly enough table space. i didn't realize the mousepad was so big. so until i rearrange my table setup, i'm stuck with my old standard mousepad.

I bought a "gaming" mouse pad. :)

I thought at the time that it would be a cool thing to throw in my "cart" when I was shopping online and buying parts. I think I paid something like 15 or 20 bucks for this thing - and it has a teflon coating. :D It is all black, with no writing on it, just a nice black square that goes perfect with keyboard and monitor and stuff. It actually makes a bigger difference than I thought it would with such a small amount of friction - especially with slick mousepads.
