I am lookin at both motherboards (Asus A8V Deluxe or MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum), and I am seeing mixed reviews of both motherboards. I am trying to find out which motherboard would be best for my next system. I will be using an AMD 64 3000+ 90nm for CPU.

Can someone just give me an idea of which board would be better for me to go with?

Well if you want a decent motherboard... go MSI

If you want an awesome motherboard... go ASUS

If you want complete crap... go Gigabit

Just my opinion

Depends , do you need 3 IDE channels, then go with Asus. I just built 2 with the A8V and no problems at all both Ver 2 Bios 1007, one with a 3000+, the other with a 3500+

I personally have the MSI board, and it works great (you can see my system specs in my signature). I am running the 3200+ (90nm) CPU at default speeds for now, but when I stress tested my system, I ran the 2.0GHz CPU at a perfectly stable 2.4GHz with a 1.50v VCore for 28hrs straight using CPUBurnIn. I would WHOLE HEARTEDLY recommend this board over the VIA one as I have had problems in the past with 2 other VIA-based mobos.

I've had success with the MSI board. I like the features it comes with and love the dual Ethernet ports. Haven't had any hardware problems with it after running for a month and a half.

If you search the forums you'll see that both boards have a lot of users reporting issues with them. IMO that's because they're probably the two most popular boards for 939 so naturally there will be more reported issues since there are more people using htem.

I just ordered the A8V last night. Got my RAM, ordered my board, case has been bouncing around at Fedex for a couple weeks ... Now all I need is the CPU.

I wish I could justify an fx-55 ... (aside from the fact that I'm upgrading from an Athlon 1GHz). I'm planning on a 3500+ Winchester Core.

It's hard for anyone to justify the money on an FX-55.

Both the ASUS and MSI are great motherboards. I prefer the ASUS because I think it's more reliable, but others may have a different experience.
