Which is better: X1650 Pro or 6800GS?

For MPEG2 playback, it's probably the 6800GS. ATI cards of that vintage were easily inferior to nVidia's offerings, although as I understand it they finally started image quality toward the end of 2006.

The 6800GS is better across the board. But that really doesn't matter -- the difference between 10 fps and 12 fps in new games is not going to be noticeable.

If you're buying new the $55 AR HD2900XT (see hot deals) is the way to fly. Otherwise get the nvidia card.
the 6800gs is not better across the board even on that chart and in reality the x1650pro is BETTER anyway. the x1650pro is basically dead even with a 6800gt(which is faster than the gs) in older games and beats the 6800gt and of course the slower 6800gs in newer games.

wow...very interesting basically x1650pro is identical to 6800gt overall.

in older games yes but in newer more shader intense games the x1650pro is usually a little faster. to be honest neither card is very good for modern games and even a wimpy 8600gt will blow those cards away.
