I am of the opposite opinion, at least when discussing game play, but I'm not sure by how much in my direction. I get the sense that it will be a sizable margin for the older card. Of anything generally in this price class of 140 to 170 or so, I get the feeling that shopping for a good price on an X800 GTO is what might pay the largest dividends right now, and that with some patience, you probably will find a 6600GT least expensive. I wanted to be ready when I buy ES IV: Oblivion, and looked for one of those $110-120 6600GT's that the AT fans of nVidia GPU's write about. No luck. Cheapest was $130, so I bought a Radeon 9800XT.
