I am looking for a new home.
Based upon your opinion, which housing material is better, longer lasting, safer, et cetera.
Currently my sights are on this semi-attached aluminum sided house that is painted baby blue. Call it intuition but it doesn't seem to be safe nor does it have an aesthetical vibe to it. There is that artificial look to it which is complemented by surrounding concrete and a asphalt driveway. The house has a 10x10 100 sq lawn up front and that?s it.

Give me tips and stories of your own experiences in house buying. What was the most important thing you were looking for in a house? Thanks for reading

Also does anyone have any websites concerning the pros and cons of brick or vinyl aluminium siding. I went to google and ask.com I only picked up countless of countless of websites that sold the stuff, which I suppose is a different form of advertisment.

Aluminum sounds like a nightmare. Can you say dents?

I guess you'd just have to replace the dented piece, but you'll be able to tell.....

brick if you can afford it.
Vinyl is great for longevity and low maintenance.
Aluminum is old school, I'd stay away from it unless you got a screaming deal.

Why no aluminium? What is wrong with it? My HSF is made of aluminium.

it doesn't bounce back. things fall off trees and dent it. people drive too close to it and dent it. it just plain doesn't wear well over time.

Huh?

Ohh...😱

Yes, brick all the way, stucco in the Southwest

Aluminum siding SUCKS. Vinyl, or even paper for that matter, is much better. Go throw a rock at a house with aluminum, or hell, just lean up against one for five minutes, and see what happens.

You might as well wrap your house in Play-Doh.

If you get Vinyl it is likely that they will do a lot of trim in aluminum.

Aluminum can be made onsite to fit existing shapes and vinyl will sag if you don't nail every few feet.

Brick is the longest lasting, most maintenance free.
