Which is better to get to O'Clock-- TunderBird OEM or Retail Box

Does it really make any diffrence which I get, as I heard that since the processors in the retail boxes are ususaly a bit older, and therefore maybe a bit easier to O'Clock as AMD has yet to 'Lock' the processor? What original T'Bird speed do you think has the most potential to overclock to 1000Mhz or beyond

P.S. What the hell does it mean if you have a green or purple core, and is it really important if you have one over the other?? And how can you tell which core you have????
