X800XL 256mb PCIE or 6600GT 128mb PCIE?

I assume x800 but just want to make sure.
I am going to buy one of these used (ATI for $40-45 or Nvidia for $35) but I haven't been keeping up w/ vid cards in a long time.

ALSO does either of these require part of the PSU to be plugged into it?

The X800XL is much faster (close to a 6800 U) but it can't run many new games because it doesn't have SM 3.0.

Does the 6600GT have that?

What? How important is SM 3.0? I am just going to be playing BF2, CSS and maybe CoD4.
Looks like Google says CoD4 does support both SM 2 and 3, so that's good

6600GT is equal to the 9800Pro I think. So yea, the X800XL is faster. By a large margin probably.

BTW - can you list such games?
Edit: a quick google reveals:

[*]Clive Barker's Jericho.
[*]Bioshock.
[*]MoH Airborne.
[*]Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas
[*]Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent
[*]Spider-Man 3
[*]Lost Planet

There are probably more, especially in development.
