Which is better Pentium M or Pentium 4 for a laptop

Hello Guys,
I am ready to spend some $1300 for a nice laptop. I am little confused with what to buy. Should I go with Pentium mobile 1.5 Ghz processors or to get Pentium 4 2.8 -3.0 GHZ processors? Will there be too much performance difference with the mobile ones being too slow clockwise? THis will be my desktop replacement so I am not too much concerned with the weight. By the way I don't play too much games either. But I am looking for 512 MB, DVD/CDRW combo or DVDRW.

Any good recommendations for my budget? Thanks.

I 1.5ghz pentium-m will likely be faster for most things than a mobile p4. The Pentium-m is a different architecture than the P4, so like the Athlon 64, it does more work clock per clock than a P4. It will also run cooler, and give you more battery life, so I would recomend the pentium-m.

That is what I have in my D800, works great.
