Which is better? Large case, Medium/standard case, or SFF. Plain, custom, or extra fancy?

Ok everyone, I need to pick your brains. I'm doing this for a little big of research and my own curiousity. What I'm curious of is which kind of computer case do you like best? Also, do you like your case to be plain, custom built/modified, or extra fancy (case comes directly from the factory with lots of tinsle, neon colors, eyecandy, cool shapes, etc)??

Now, I only ask one thing. Please keep the answers short and simple. I am just looking for personal preferences mostly, not open debates as to which is better and why. We can do that later. :D:D:D:D

My basic goal is to see what the makeup is of what people like for their computer cases. I only ask for you to answer 3 things.

1. What type of case do you like? Large, medium/standard, or Small Form factor.
2. Do you prefer your case plain, custom built/modified, or extra fancy prebuilt (lots of eye candy built into the case at the factory).
3. What state/provice and country are you from?

Thanks everyone. Apreciate the info.

1. medium/standard (Enlight 7237, Antec KS-288, Antec SX6xx series are examples of the height/size, I absolutely hate Antec SX8xx and larger series)

2. plain

3. New York state, USA

I have an Inwin Q500 server case and while it is very nice if you need room to work, it weighs a ton. I just bought a medium tower that i'm gonna rice out :)

if you are getting a store bought computer (Dell, HP, Gateway, etc) then I really prefer the SFF (assuming you aren't going to add drives)

if you are building it yourself, the mid tower is a good choice, not too big , but not too cramped for fitting in the mobo and drives

to me a case is a box that holds my computer , plain jane is ok

my location is in my profile

Antec 1080 AMG...bought through Staples for 70 bucks (mistake by both of us...csr accepted 50 coupon when total wasn't 200...and also did PM without adding shipping)....and that included the 430w true power.

Sits right next to a previous generation antec sx1040. After years of dealing with tiny cases with sharp edges, the big antecs are a welcome relief.

Wow, cool. I'm seeing a majority trend towards plain midtowers. Interesting. :)

This is great info everyone. Anyone who hasn't jumped in really should. This is very good information.

Don't forget the lowly desktop case, which does have it's place. Like the Enlight Desktop Case EN-7200AX. Of the three PCs I have set up, 2 Workstations are using this case. Main reason is the small footprint when used under the monitor. Otherwise, you have a tower on your desktop or stuck under the desk. Having it right in front of you is as handy as you can get in everyday use, and if the desktop is low enough, your monitor will sit at the exact ergonomically perfect height too.

It depends on the application of the machine. For the most part I just use the Enlight 7237. I am however waiting for this to be released.
