Which is better DDR3 2000 MHz CL9 or 1600 MHz CL7

I am looking to build a new computer (still deciding between i7 860 and 920, though leaning toward 860) and was wondering what would be the better ram to get. Which is better DDR3 2000 MHz CL9 or 1600 MHz CL7? Overall speed is important, speed in games especially. I will probably stay at stock speed for the first year and then overclock in the future. Any suggestions?

1600 until you OC, then move to the 2000

They'll be pretty much the same. I'd would suggest to get the cheaper of the 2. The 1600 cl7 kit will probably overclock to the same as level as the 2000 would.

If you calculate the latency out for time in seconds, the 1600MHZ CL7has a shorter latency, despite having the lower bandwidth. But the performance difference is probably not that significant enough to warrant buying the "faster," more expensive ram. Unless, of course, you got money to burn....

I would get the cheapest 1333@7s stuff u can find personally... fast ram is way overrated nowadays i feel

Make sure its JEDEC @ 1.5v as well so you have more headroom when u do feel like overclocking

There's only one 1333 CL7 at 1.5v, though -- the GSkill.
