I have an abit av8 mobo with an 3200+ winchester. I'm constantly multitasking with it. i.e. Photoshop, www, Word, Powerpoint, music, chat, and large downloads/uploads. games very seldomly. (i know, what am i doing here???). I have 2 sticks of rosewill 512mb pc3200 ram and 2 sticks of 1gb kingston pc2700 value ram. Which is a better choice for my purpose?

i'm using a rosewill 9800pro, 300gig hd, tv tuner, and 550watt rosewill powersupply.

2GB Ram would be
Photoshop loves large capacity of RAM
If your HDD is slow, large RAM would probably help the buffer of your large download and upload

ahh. Base on your usage pattern I'd say the more capacity will do you more good.
Faster Ram will making intensive operations like WinRAR, Games faster. But in apps like photoshop, video editing; it's the capacity that counts

It depends. If the programs your working with use 1gb or less of memory then pc 3200 would be faster than pc 2700. Depending on the operation it may or may not be significant (depends on what the bottle neck is). If your exceeding 1gb of memory usage 2gb's of almost any memory would be faster. Even dirt old pc 66 memory is going to have a faster access time and higher bandwidth than even the best hd's still. Since you mention photoshop (typically very memory hungry program altho it depends on the size of the images your working with). I'm going to guess the 2gbs is probably going to do better.

The difference between PC2700 and PC3200 of the same amount of ram is non existent in anything real world, so 2GB of PC2700 would be very useful in comparison to 1.

the extra bandwidth can really help, especially if running it at PC2700 means asynch
