Which is Asus latest model for 10" netbooks

I'm considering a netbook to take on a trip for movie viewing and backing up DSLR and digital video. I'm going back and forth between the Asus 10" and 12" models. I'm trying to compare the latest 12" model (ASUS Eee PC 1215N) to the latest 10" model...but I can't figure out what that is. The Asus website is terrible...I can't even find a list of the 10" models that will stay on the screen. It seems the only way to see the models is some type of flash list that only stays on the screen when you mouse over.

Anyway...what is their top of the line 10" model.

And...any advice on which to choose? I'll be mainly using this netbook for:
1. kids watching movies on long flights
2. backing up DLSR photos
3. backing up HD digital video
4. skype video chats during trip
5. after trip it will sit around living room for web surfing (probably with a laptop mouse)
6. might be used later to provide HD video to a 55" TV (I realize the HDMI on the 1215N would win here)

AS you can see the Dell one is about $300 off regular price at the moment so it is a very very good deal. and quite a bit more powerful then the Asus offerings at the moment.

Thanks for the reply. I wouldn't mind going in a different direction than Asus. But there are several things that are important and some that are critical.

The Dell's battery life is only 2.5 hours. I don't think I need 10 or 11 hours as some of the Asus netbooks boast...but 2.5 just won't cut it.

The reason I'm looking into the 10" is due to the small size. I'm trying to find the smallest laptop that I can that can still do what I want. Obviously that's a fine line to walk. We will be carrying this laptop all over the place on a 2 week upcoming trip. The Dell's 13" acreen is pushing on the larger size.

The HP is interesting but upon further research that battery life also seems on the short side. I found it ranges from 3 to 4 hours.

Is the linked HP really $300 off or is it just stripped down in that version. Amazon does show the same laptop at around $700.

As I look around more I am finding that the HP Pavilion dm1z battery life may be better than I thought...around 6 hours. That is an intriguing option.

Yes I did...try finding a list of their 10" netbooks that will stay on the screen...or that you can cut/paste. It only shows up when you hold your mouse over a certain spot...and then the list goes away.

I do see the list of 10" netbooks there...but how do you know what's the most recent version...what's the newest? When you go to Nikon.com they put a nice big NEW banner on the new cameras so you can pick them out from the 50 on the screen.

If we're talking about watching an HD video on a 10' netbook . . . I'd say look at the Asus 1015PN. You're going to have to manually switch the graphics card to save on battery power, but at this time, it seems like it's the best option save for seeing what new offerings they may have what with Brazos recently being released . . ..

It seems to be at least 6 hours of real world usage according to numerous reviews. The thing with the HP is that it is enough of a "real" notebook that you won't be butting your head against the limitations of a typical netbook, yet it gets similar battery life, price and size.

Also note that the 12" netbooks typically do not have as long a battery life as the 10" models. I don't know if the larger and higher resolution screen is the problem, or a lower capacity battery (to keep it lightweight). Also, many of the 12" netbooks are ION, which hurts battery life too.

FWIW, I like a 9" screen. Small size is most important to me, and 9" hits the size spot very well. I certainly wouldn't go over 10". I wouldn't even consider anything larger. If you're going to get a 12", you might as well go the rest of the way, and get a 15". 12" is in kind of a no mans lan,where it doesn't fulfill either function(size features) as the other machines.
