Asante 7000, 24 10/100 ports with a fibre module added
HP Procurve 2424M, 24 10/100 ports with a fibre module added

😱

I would imagine that HP one would run just fine. I have never heard of the other one. Are you sure you need the fiber module? because that adds cost to the switch

Are they both managable? I'm guessing so. They'll both probably be fine if that's the case. Out of the two I'd probably say the Asante but that's just me.

However I do have an SMC 6924M 24-port 10/100 (optional 1Gbps module or redundant PSU) for sale for $200 if you're interested. 🙂 Pics here The case wasn't stock, and old tape recorder case that was laying around. The switch isn't even a year old; since I don't host LANs anymore I don't have a need for it. It works great and is in like-new condition.

I need the fibre since I'm doing lans and I'm a hardware junkie like that. I got a couple gigabit cards free, one is fibre, the other is copper (old copper) so I might as well use them since I can't sell them for anything.

I only know that the HP one is managed, can't get a lot of info on the asante one. I know they're big in networks but I've never used their stuff before.
