For normal gaming...which is better ? Usually game on 1280x 1024 with some eye candy...
on games like homeworld 2...heroes of might and magic 5...

AMD X2 3800 AM2 with x1950pro

or

C2D E6300 with 7600GT

oh btw...out of curiousity... x1950pro vs 7900GS...which one is better ?
 
x1950 pro is better than the 7900GS but not by very much. As for your first choice, why not a C2D E6300 and x1950 pro?
 
well its kinda sad because i'm on a budget...will a better card be better for gaming or a better CPU ?
 
AMD + Mobo = ~$50 more than the E6300 + Mobo
Downgrade from x1950 to a 7900GS and pay around $10 more in total but for a CPU that will last alot longer than the AMD.

I had a AMD 4200+, switching to E6300 was hell of a gain, though i dont play PC games alot since i just got myself a PS3 🙂
