Which is a better chipset: P35 or 750i?

I just ordered a new s775 motherboard to replace my current ASUS P5N-D (nforce 750i); I felt configuration/overclocking/bios/power consumption options were too constrained with it. I, myself, don't have an immediate use for the P5N-D. However, I built a desktop for my cousin a few years ago with a gigabyte p35 (the power-conscious replacement to their first main p35 motherboard). I'm wondering if swapping it out with the p5n-d would allow more stable overclocking of her e2180 processor and ram.

Imho, P35, hands down.

I like the options in the nvidia chipset for overclocking, but I found the P35/P45 chipsets to be FAR more stable and able to push higher than the 780i I used.

Okay- Option 2:

I built a computer for my mother with my old E7200 on an ECS G31T-M(1.0) (Also using my old NVIDIA 7600GT rather than gma3100)

Good idea to swap the two boards there? I know the P5N-D can OC the E7200 very well, but I am wondering how well the power consumption will stay in check. For the computers' primary uses, it consumes ~98 watts (only what's inside case measured; as reported @ plug with a 'P3 Kill A Watt')

update:
I replaced the p35 board with my old 750i board in the computer. Power consumption is up, but a bug that prevented the computer from sleeping went away, the ram (2 sticks of 667 oc'd to 800) performs with manually set voltage and is more stable, and now there is room for OC later on (that e7200 has awesome voltage response and low requirements). My mother tends to walk away from the computer often, so having it now sleep when the OS power management tells it to should hopefully negate the higher overall power consumption. Plus, it was a good excuse to put win7 on the computer, getting rid of vista and the older xp install while keeping her from having to call me with problems so often. lol

I've always found NV chipsets to have higher failure rates versus intel chipsets. Just my two cents, since every NV board I've had has failed and all but one intel board have been flawless.

I'm still using my 650i just fine. I do kind of wonder if I could possibly get better overclocks with the p35, not that I'm unsatisfied with my E6320 at ~3.0 GHz.

Both my P35 and P45 have gone over 600fsb stable 24/7 but it takes GOOD components to get there.
