I'm reading a book by David Allen that is making me consider getting a PDA for personal organization reasons, and I'm wondering if there is anything good out there that has decent ability to play MP3s as well. Just starting looking now, so what is out there that is decent? Even if it doesn't play MP3s...other options I should be considering?

Post Edited: Choosing between one of these (buying two, actually), which should I get?

HP Refurbs.

What advantages would a PDA have over a day planner or Outlook (on your PC) in terms of personal organization?

I can carry it with me and sync it with my PC. The other advantages (depending on model) could be the ability to listen to music, read books...whatever.

Just trying to get a general feel for the market and what's out there. The last thing I used was a Palm V.

I use my 1910 for mp3s all the time. Just pick up a good size SD card (mine is 256), and you're good to go.

I have a Dell Axim that I purchased a couple of months ago. Check out Dells' website. They even have a Dell DJ that only plays MP3's. I always use my pocket PC for music and it's great. Use headphones though. Oh, and I can watch movies on my Axim as well.

What exactly are you asking? "fair amount of MP3 stuff?" What is stuff? A PDA either plays mp3's or it doesn't. I don't know of any modern Pocket PC that cannot play mp3's. I am pretty sure most, if not all, Palm OS PDA's can too. How's that for stuff?

Same here. The iPAQ's rock! (No pun intended. ;) )

One of the most important things about a PDA is size. I know quite a few people who picked up the Dell Axim because of the price, but now they don't use it very often because it's too big to carry around everywhere you go.

I didn't know that. Like I said, I haven't used a PDA since a 8mb Palm V was great. ;)

That being said, I guess size and memory size/price will be issues, too. Perhaps the ability to find one used easily...I'm new to this, so I'm just looking for a host of recommendations. Sounds good so far, though. I'll look at the 1910.

Though my Dell Axim is larger than most, it can do everything I want, takes cf, mmc/sd cards at same time, and survive after many drops.

Should? That all depends on you.

Get the one with the most features that you desire (i.e. SDIO slot, bluetooth, etc...) that falls within your budget.

Can anyone help me with the difference between the 2210 and 2215? They look the same to me. :p

Here are my options:

iPAQ 2215, new (not used), returned from store to HP because it was not sold: $287.10.
iPAQ 1945, new as well, $215.10.
iPAQ 1910, new, $143.10.

1945 if you want small and portable.

2215 ONLY if you want a CF slot.

Can you use the Nevo software with it? I'll likely go with the 1945. ;)

I'm not positive, but i believe the 2210 and 2215 are the same thing. It's just one is coded for selling in brick and mortor, and one for selling online.
