Which Intel Motherboard to buy for Sandbox

😕 I want to build a desktop sandbox to run Vm's, XP PRO & upgrade to Vista Ultimate when needed. I want at least 6 to 8 gigs of ram Max, Sata drives, 10/100/1000 lan and run 32-64 bit software such as SQl Server/oracle server stuff. I am hoping someone already has built a PC with these specs and give me some ideas and or suggestions. Thanks in advance.

For 8 GB of RAM I'd get an X38 Motherboard, those tend to cause less problems when all 4 RAM slots are used than P35 motherboards.
The Gigabyte X38 DS4 is pretty nice and has the features you listed.

I see newegg has discontinued this board. No overclocking for me. My video card preference is Nividia. I will check around.

I just went with a Dell dual CPU Poweredge SC1430 (Dual 5110's), and bought 8gb ram seperately. Ran me ~1k.

With this board what type of case, sata drives & video cards do you recommend? I still want to stick with Plextor for my DVD burner. As I stated before I test lots of stuff using Vmware so I need memory (kingston, crucial) to do stuff. thanks in advance.

I have narrowed my choices to the following:

GIGABYTE GA-EX38 DS4
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor
Cooler Master Mystique ATX Mid Tower RCC-6325

I am now looking for a good power supply that fits nicely with the case. Any recommendation?

thanks in advance
