There is no doubt that the new GeForce Go 6800 Ultra is the fastest mobile graphics you can get but the 6800 Go and the X800 are no slouches either, but truthfully the Ultra is in a class of its own. As for a processor, I like the Pentium Ms over the P4 or P4EE as they produce less heat and are still extremely fast. You end up with a much cooler system that is more efficient and doesn't draw as much power. Think of it as the comparison between the lower clocked A64 processor vs the higher clocked P4s, the former still is able to outperform the latter even though they are clocked at a much lower speed.

My dream gaming laptop would have a Pentium M processor and a 6800Ultra Go. That means configuration number 2. The 6800Ultra Go is the most powerful laptop video card out there right now, and Pentium Ms are Intel's future for laptops. They run off of waaaay less power than a P4, and much much cooler. They also compete with the latest A64's too. If Intel could find a way to get them into desktops then AMD would surely have competition.

Thanks for the quick response guys. I think I'm going with your recommendation then. Kind of bugs me though because I own an alienware desktop and wanted to continue with them with the laptop. I even chatted with them yesterday, but they were very non-helpful when I asked about this comparision. They kept saying "we can't comment on products not currently sold by alienware" So, I told them to convince me why I should get their top of the line laptop vs. dell and they gave me the standard crap. Great companies expand, become commercialized, and then they go down hill in my opinion. What I wanted was on honest answer, like "we think are laptop excels in these areas...., but currently we understand the Go ultra out performs in these areas...." Rather than converting to dell, I may have gone with alienware because I enjoy honest, frank answers.

Peace,

Guy

What would the battery life of a P4EE/GF6 Go 6800U be?
About the time it takes for you to plug it back in after realizing your mistake in pulling the plug?
