I'm looking for something that will dump the least amount of heat into my case. I have an aftermarket ps that can handle either card, so that isn't an issue.

Thanks

IIRC, the best AGP card is the X1950Pro.

As for the least amount of heat, I can't tell you that. I would think the X1950 since it is built on a smaller process than the 7800GS, but I could be wrong.

I havent read the reviews but I think the x1950Pro trumps the 7800GS now. At least thats what I been hearing on various forums.

the 1950pro is currently the best for AGP. the 7800gs isn't that great of a card right now. it is large and draws a lot of power and the 7600GT can put out the same performance for much less.

The 7800GS is past it's time. A 7600GT would be a better $$/performance choice.

Definetly a X1950Pro over the 7800GS. I've placed X1900XTs in X-QPacks. I've seen quite a few photos of people with 800GTS in X-QPacks, too... I wouldn't worry about the X1950Pro.

For slightly less $$. There's also the X1650XT it has twice the pipes of the X1600Pros and X1650Pros. Great value is running @ 1280x1024.

The X1650XT and the 7600GT run neck and neck in benchmarks. (The 7600GT is also so close to performance of the 7800GS it's not worth spending the extra $$.)

The HIS AGP X1650XT has got one of those giant coolers ... $149 after rebate ...

or

XFX 7600GT $149 after rebate.

Thanks all for the replies. Looks like I'm either getting the 1650XT or 1950Pro. My main concern for the 1950Pro was size and heat in my case, so if others have done it I should be OK.
