Which heatsink/fan should I get for Duron 600 & ASUS A7V?

I'm thinking the Aplha PAL6035 or the GlobalWin FOP32-7K, but isn't there a new Alpha entering the market in a couple weeks?

Thanks

I haven't heard about any new Alpha cooler. In a month or so, however, Agilent Tech. will release their CB and CC line of heatsinks, which will be pretty good, considering their price/performance.

The PAL6035 is a great cooler, and so is the FOP32-1, but the PAL6035 cools better than the latter, at the expense of cost.

BTW, the GlobalWin cooler you are referring to is called the FOP32-1, not FOP32-7K.

If you can get it, go with the PAL6035....If you don't mind the noise, get the Delta 38CFM fan with that. Running my 1GHz Tbird with that combo:

Full load = 42-43C; While running IDLE = 34-35C. MB = 32-33C either case.

Changed to Sunon 24CFM fan on Alpha PAL6035: Full load = 48-50C; While running idle 36-37C. MB = 33C either case.

The FOP32-1, from what I understand, is also very good...especially for the price...

Good Luck

P.S. I'm just using the white thermal compound from 2cooltek...Don't know if it would be worth getting the silver stuff?

According to Alpha's US office, there are no plans to introduce a new heatsink for Socket A because they've already developed a new clip on the PAL6035.

Now, where the hell can I actually buy the Alpha cooler? I, unfortunately, cannot find it in Canada, and am having a hell of a time finding a shop in he states that has them in stock. Hell, even the Global Win is out-of-stock in Canada! Any URLs?
