I'm getting an AMD64 San Diego 3700+ and I don't excatly plan on overclocking much if at all. Should I stay with stock heat sink or look into something better. What's out there with quality?

If you don't plan on overclocking or anything, the stock fan is good enough.
If you've got extra money lying around, get a Thermalright XP-90 with a low speed panaflo, an XP-120 with a Yale Loon or Nexus or even a Zalman 7700Cu/AlCu.

really, if you dont overclock, theres no point in an aftermarket hsf

The stock HSF is loud.

ok, then get an xp-120. and a quiet nexus 120mm fan, that you cant hear at all.
