Which HDs?

I am looking for something fast, dependable, and quiet. I was thinking about the 60.0 GB 60GXPs, but I have heard that there are quieter alternatives. I need the drives to be 60 GB. Any suggestions?

I know that the maxtor dm+60 drives are supposed to have almost as good performance as the IBM and they are very quiet drives in my experience with them....i think maxtor would be a good alternative to the 60GXP series

The newest Samsung Spinpoint drives are one of the quiestest drives around. I don't know how reliable the drives are. Also, the Fujitsu's are tough to find, but they make some very quiet drives too.

How much quieter do you need them...over case fans alone I haven't heard noise from my hdd since I bought a 13.6gig 7200rpm 2-1/2 years ago. with my amd system I hear nothing but fans.

Go with performance and reliability since I doubt the top five drives will be noticeably louder then each other.
