Looking to buy a SATA 200gb+ drive. Couldn't find any reviews on here so I'm asking here, which one? I really prefer WD myself, but idk lately I've seen Hitachi, Seagate and even Maxtor (eh reallly?) come out with pretty good looking drives idk if WD has any edge anymore (in terms of reliability as well).

Just let me know what you guys think.

Thanks.

Different people have different taste in drives but for me here are my list of types that I would get in order

For IDE or Sata
#1 - Seagate
#2 - Western Digital

For SCSI's
#1 - Seagate
#2 - Maxtor Atlas
#3 - Fujitsu MAM

I started with WD 120G caviar on my other pc. Loved it but finally died after 3 years. Got a Seagate 80G to replace itand now I know what pure silence is. Although I have a Raptor (is loud but doesnt bother me for the performance), my next HD purchases will be Seagates :) I need one anyway for storage on my new pc.

Just bought two Hitachi 250gb's. They came in a moisture proof, sealed 3M bag. My friend's maxtors have never game in such a caring package. WD and Maxtor's stuff didn't impress me in the slightest.

I had it narrowed down to the Seagate 200gig or the Hitachi 250gb and I chose the 'Tachi.

Both are great drives
